Penguins, Parrots, Hearts, Butterflies, Rabbits, Pom Poms and Trees
Here are the lovely ornaments that are now gracing our Advent Tree.
We have a glass penguin from Oaxaca in Mexico (which by the way is a totally awesome city), a tin heart from Parlane, a parrot from Paperchase, a silk embroidered butterfly from Accessorize, a rabbit from a shop in York, a fluffy pompom from goodness knows where, and a blue and white pottery Christmas tree from the Manchester Christmas Markets:
This weekend I will be decorating our Christmas tree - and on Sunday the family are coming over for dinner. I'll be serving asparagus with hollondaise sauce, followed by coq au vin, followed by chocolate honeypots. Yeah, that sounds good.
Happy weekends, everyone!

Taking us through the memories of each ornament reminds me of my childhood. Every Christmas we'd spend 3 hours sipping cocoa and listening to each other's stories about where we got an ornament. It was always a bonding moment, especially since each year that passed we added fiction to the story making it even more ridiculous.
