Welcome!

Thanks for visting Simply The Nest. I'm an English girl married to an Portuguese boy, and when I'm not taking care of our adorable baby girl, I blog about our house renovation, DIY projects, delicious recipes, design, inspirational interiors, and  family life in a little Manchester nest. Oh, and Jack Russells (we have two). And our five year masterplan to move to France. Très bien.

A Year In The Secret Garden - February

It's the first day of February, which means it's time for February's photo of the garden for my A Year In The Secret Garden series.

Behold:

Yes! It's sunny! After three weeks of literally not a speck of sun, the sun came out this morning. Incredible.

Here are some details. The secret patio - I actually like the patio at this time of year before it becomes completely overgrown with climbers, because you can see the bones of it:

You can read about how we built the patio here.

There are new buds on Clematis Crystal Fountain, which grows up the shed, and otherwise looks completely dead:

And there are also flower buds on Clematis Winter Beauty and Clematis Armandii:

Daffodil bulbs are coming up everywhere, and the Ikea lanterns sparkled in the winter sun:

Someone decided to take a time out and catch some rays - and someone else enjoyed padding around on the lawn:

You can see the entire A Year In The Secret Garden series in this photo gallery.

Do you have a garden? How is it looking at the moment?

I love you garden!
Thanks for commenting on my blog. Our dog did a number on our yardb this winter, so I'll be looking for good ideas on how to fix it back up.
