Welcome!

Thanks for visting Simply The Nest. I'm an English girl married to an Portuguese boy, and when I'm not taking care of our adorable toddler girl, I blog about our house renovation, DIY projects, delicious recipes, design, inspirational interiors, and family life in a Victorian Manchester nest. Oh, and Jack Russells (we have two). And our masterplan to move to France. Très bien.

Blue And White Organic Ceramics

As mentioned yesterday, over the weekend I purchased two rather splendid blue and white ceramic pots by Lee Page Hanson from the Manchester Craft Centre:

I think the patterns were probably created by the artist pressing the palm of his hand to the clay - but from further away they look like Japanese mountain scenes. I find the contrast between distance and immediacy rather pleasing.

In addition to pots, vessels, vases and spheres, Lee also makes tiles:

Loving the birds, natch. I like the idea of choosing four (or maybe nine) and hanging them in a grid in our home office.

What have you purchased recently to grace your casa?
