Welcome!

Thanks for visting Simply The Nest. I'm an English girl married to an Portuguese boy, and when I'm not taking care of our adorable toddler girl, I blog about our house renovation, DIY projects, delicious recipes, design, inspirational interiors, and family life in a Victorian Manchester nest. Oh, and Jack Russells (we have two). And our masterplan to move to France. Très bien.

Eureka!

It's a miracle. We finally have a daffodil in flower in the garden. Behold:

OK, so it's literally just the one flower. And it was supposed to come up in early January. So we're talking about one seriously tardy plant. I'm prepared to let it off with a warning, however. After all, I barely stuck my head outdoors for the whole of January and February, so I can hardly talk, can I?

I would be doing a major happy dance if I had a daffodil to enjoy. All we've got in Akron, OH is mud, mounds of bird feed shells from the winter feeder, and black dingy tree trunks. No leaves, no flower buds, no sunshine so I'm hoping you'll celebrate your daffodil on my behalf today too!

Hi Kimberj - we now have TWO daffodils in flower now so I will celebrate them both on your behalf :-)

Hope the sun comes your way soon!
