A Year In The Secret Garden - March
It's the beginning of March, which means it's time to share my monthly photo of our secret garden:

The patio at the back of the garden is starting to get a little more overgrown:

We have crocus, and flowering clematis:

And a certain fluffy Jack Russell who likes to jump onto the picnic table in order to drink rainwater from his favourite crystal bowl:

Cuteness!
You can check out November, December, January and February's photos in a photo gallery here.
What's happening in your garden at the moment?

Well, he is so gorgeous, what else would he be drinking from? Some excitement in my garden, 3 large shrubs succumbed to the effects of the snow - as there was really nothing wrong with them except for the yellow(don't like yellow) flowers on 2, I could not really justify digging them out.... but now I am replacing them with a wonderful fragrant Daphne Odora, a Phyladelphus (mock orange) and a gorgous Hebe - Vogue , can't wait for the weather to warm up a little more so I can get going!
Yes, he's such a little prince. Drinking from a crystal bowl, honestly.
I know what you mean about yellow flowers - I love daffodils, crocus and forsythia, but I hate yellow at any other time of year, and we don't have anything yellow in the house. Your planting plans sound lovely! I adore scented plants - I try to grow lavender, but unfortunately the dogs adore scented plants too, and they tend to roll on the lavender and crush it mercilessly before the plants have a chance to get started. Little monkeys.
Yellow only belongs on daffodils, baby chicks and the sun! I have tried lavender too, it seems to grow so differently here to the way it grows in the southern hemisphere - I'm still trying...
